Since 1964, Abbey Spanier has litigated hundreds of class action cases with a focus on securities, employment, consumer and antitrust law.  Our 6 partners have practiced for more than a collective 160 years, most of it together.  Abbey Spanier has been privileged to represent a wide variety of clients, from unfairly treated employees to public pension funds that have seen their pension accounts battered by corporate fraud.

Jill S. Abrams is a former Abbey Spanier partner whose practice has focused on class action litigation in the areas of securities, employment, consumer and antitrust law for over 25 years. She co-chaired the Securities Sub-Committee of the ABA’s Class Actions and Derivative Suits Committee.   Jill has been involved in Girls Learn International, a non-profit girls’ service learning organization, since its 2003 formation. She is an avid tennis player, painter and potter.

Nancy Kaboolian has dedicated her legal carreer to litigating complex class actions in state and federal courts across the country. Ms. Kaboolian received her B.A. from the State University College of New York at Fredonia and her J.D. from New York Law School.

After obtaining her B.A. from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA and her J.D. from American University Washington College of Law in Washington D.C., Stephanie Amin-Giwner returned to New York where she grew up and began practicing law.  Stephanie has concentrated her practice in class action litigation, specializing in employment and securities law for the last ten years.  She is an avid reader and enjoys attending shows both on and off Broadway.

Orin Kurtz has been an associate at Abbey Spanier Rodd & Abrams since 2004. In addition to his practice, Mr. Kurtz is a musician, a New York Yankees fan, and enjoys reading about nutrition and wellness.

Natalie Marcus has concentrated in the litigation of antitrust and securities class actions.  She received her B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University and her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.  Natalie is a member of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

Mr. Margolies concentrates his practice in shareholder class action litigation.  He received his B.S. from Lehigh University, College of Business and Economics in 1996, his J.D. from New York Law School in 2001 and his M.B.A. from New York University, Leonard N. Stern School of Business in May 2010.

A California native, I moved to New York where my dad grew up to earn my law degree at New York Law School (’06) after receiving my undergraduate degree from Revelle College, University of California at San Diego (’03).  In 2006, I joined Abbey Spanier Rodd & Abrams, LLP, as an associate, where my practice has focused on shareholder, employment and consumer class action litigation.  I am an avid reader and enjoy cycling in and around Brooklyn, where I live, as well brewing beer at home, a hobby especially popular among my friends.

Steve Rodd is a native of Kansas and a Jayhawker (University of Kansas ’69). He obtained his J.D. from New York University (’74) after spending two years in the Peace Corps in Cameroon. He has practiced primarily in securities class action and merger and acquisitions litigation for many, many years, and is a member of  the Securities Litigation Committee of the Bar Association of the City of New York and President of the Board of Directors of the renowned New York City youth theater group TADA!

Julie Salwen concentrates her practice in the area of employment law.  Before attending Fordham Law School, she worked as a supermarket clerk and served as a shop steward and rank and file member of the Executive Board of her union local.  She enjoys live performances and reading, especially mysteries that were written before 1960.
